LABOR DEMANDS ABBOTT GOVERNMENT RELEASE REVIEW OF AUTO

The Abbott Government’s Productivity Commission Inquiry into the automotive industry has been a farce from start to finish.

Sadly the final report, received by the Government yesterday, can be nothing more than a post-mortem.

This was never anything other than a cynical ploy by the Abbott Government as cover while the car industry left Australia.

Having succeeded in sending auto manufacturing jobs overseas, the Abbott Government is now refusing to say how it will help these hard working Australians to find new work.

The economic reviews of Victoria and South Australia we were promised at the end of February still haven’t materialised.

Months after learning they would be out of a job, employees at GM Holden and Toyota are still waiting to hear from the Abbott Government.

These hard working Australians aren’t asking for a hand-out, they just want to be able to provide for their family through the dignity and independence of a secure job.

The Abbott Government understands the price of everything and the value of nothing.

This silence from Tony Abbott shows he has a plan for knights and dames but no plan for Australian jobs.

Australians deserve better from their government than these twisted priorities.

Mr Abbott should release the Productivity Commission report immediately, along with the Commission of Audit report his government remains so desperate to hide from voters in WA.

Another delay to get past another election. Australians want quality jobs and expect their government to invest in the future.
