The rushed Liberal plan to make 400,000 Australians audition before a panel of strangers to get on or stay on the NDIS has already angered people with disability.
 
And now the proposed system of ‘independent assessments’ has been revealed as only having sham consultation.
 
NDIS Minister Stuart Robert claims the scheme is based on successful trials.
 
But one pilot was discontinued and the other clearly had only minimal and tokenistic consultation with the very people who will be affected by the changes.
 
Many people with disability rightly fear this plan is just a way to target particular NDIS groups and to slash available funding.
 
No doubt it will help the Liberals funnel many more millions of dollars to their mates.
 
But it will likely do nothing but cause more grief for Australians with disability.
 
It’s time Stuart Robert and the Liberals got their hands off our NDIS.
