Today Labor joins with all Australians in wishing our Paralympic team all the best at the 2016 Paralympic Games starting tomorrow in Rio.

 It is a fantastic achievement that Australia is sending one of the biggest teams to this year’s Games. 

Australia will be represented by 177 athletes competing across 16 sports. 

We admire their athleticism, strength and determination. 

The Paralympic Games highlight the need for greater support for people living with disability in Australia and around the world. 

The Games also help shape community attitudes towards disability and promote sport for all Australians. 

We wish our Paralympians the very best of luck – we are immensely proud of you.
