Secondary students across Australia can get involved in Australia’s historic presidency of the G20, with the Federal Government today announcing the G20 Australia Commemorative Stamp Competition.

The G20 leaders summit in Brisbane next November will be the most significant meeting of world leaders ever held in Australia and the Australian Government wants as many Australians as possible to get involved.

That’s why we are giving secondary students around the nation the exciting opportunity to design an official G20 Australia Commemorative Stamp to mark our G20 host year.

We want to find the best commemorative stamp that can be put into circulation by Australia Post during 2014. The Australian community will have an opportunity to vote on Facebook for their favourite from amongst the short-listed designs later this year.

The stamp competition is a great way for students to get involved with promoting the G20 and to showcase their creative talent.

The G20 in 2014 is expected to attract 25 world leaders, 4,000 delegates and up to 3,000 domestic and international media, so the competition is also a wonderful opportunity for our students to put their “stamp” on the G20 and create a little piece of history.

We encourage schools to get together a team of students and a teacher to fill in an entry form and submit a design for the G20 Australia official commemorative stamp. Competition entries close on September 20 and can be submitted via email to [email protected].
